Boy question... easy 10 pointsss!?

Okay, so this cute boy in one of my classes is best friends with one of my friends. I was out w/her the other day and told her to give him my number. She did and told him to text me. He said okay. He texted my finally last night, but my phone is on the fritz! He thought I was ignoring him and kept texting my friend saying things like "She's not texting back...", "Maybe she just doesn't like me that much," "Is it weird that our first real convo is over text?" and "It's been over an hour..." So this afternoon I gave him a note with my number and explained and he just smiled and said "That would make sense." What does this mean? I've only ever talked to him three times before.

First off, he isn't mad or anything if that's what you were thinking, he simply means that you not tasting back because your phone wasn't working makes sense, he understand why you weren't txting back, Ive been in such situations, just txt him when you can and try talking to him a little bit, or a simply smile when you see hi in the halls would work, don't think you killed all chances with him because I'm sure you haven't,

it means he probably thought about something wrong with your phone but didn't think that's the real reason
