i am 16 weeks and 2 days pregnant,how come the doctor said is too early to tell the sex of the baby?

It's not too early. Mine diagnosed the sex of my son at 11 weeks, lol. Of course, he said it was an "educated guess" but he was right. At that age, it's really just 50/50, but he said when babies are that little, they have these little nubs (the sex organs look the same). With boys, the nubs point up, and with girls they point down. I had a quick ultrasound at my 16 week appt. and the midwife wouldn't even check for me. Not sure why. Maybe it's some type of liability thing. You can't sue them if they're wrong, but maybe they just don't want you getting your hopes up? I don't know.

its not clear enough so you wont find out until your about 20 weeks

Because a boys testes dont drop until around 18-20 weeks so before that a boy and a girl look almost the same down there. A ultrasound tech could guess the sex at 16 weeks but it would just be a guess and could easily turn out to be wrong. 20 weeks is the best time to find out.

Because the parts aren't always developed enough. You'll get the best answer at 20 weeks...

I was told the same thing at my ultrasound and I was almost 16 weeks. The tech told me that she could make a guess but that we should wait to buy anything until we have another one done around 20 weeks. So far I'm having a baby girl....

Because it is too early. Any decent and knowledgeable doctor will not even venture a guess untill you are 18-20 weeks, that is when it is the most clear and accurate.
