"Compensated dating" is from
"enjo-kosai" ( Japanese).
Nowadays these two words are widely used
in some western and Asian countries.
As I know, "compensated dating" mainly refer to teens or school girls
who get engaged in prostitution.
Perhaps materialistic satisfaction has to blame , but I cannot rule out the fact that they are after cash or sex.
