Yes, A-Rod has to stay no matter what. His 10 year contract says so. Jeter is mostly will

Jeter will always be a yankee. He may not always be a shortstop but he will always be a yankee. I dont think the yankees would ever not sign him, especially after the year he is putting up, i see him gettin another 4 or 5 yr contract to lock him up until he is going to retire. And i think he would retire than go to another team. The only way A-rod isnt a yankee when he retires, is if the yanks trade him in a few years, i dont really see that happening but anythings possible, and i could see him going somewhere like the Marlins or some team close to home when he is on the downhill slope of his carreer. Rip the yanks all you want, but unlike anyother team they take care of their own. Many teams would have given up on Posada and they stuck with him, they are true yanks and will always be taken care of by the organization. To the person about Damon, i say its 50/50 they re-sign him, isnt he like 36? With NO arm, they can move melky to left and make Gardner an all time CF. And they have Austin Jackson in the Minors who is supposed to be the next big thing. And there are some quality players in the free agent market coming up, i could see them going after Matt Holliday and leaving Damon out.

The answer is A) yes, assuming that both remain healthy. A-Rod will almost certainly make a run at Babe Ruth's record, and then Bobby Bonds asterisk record. The Yankees will crave the attention this will bring, and the fact is that A-Rod is clearly one of ten best ever to play the game, and stays in shape and should be productive for many years.

Jeter is a tougher fit as he grows older. The Yankees will almost be forced to keep what has become a modern icon. The question is how do you incorporate an aging Derek Jeter into the line-up? He is still a good(but not great) shortstop, but his range has always been an issue, and will only get worse. Moving him to first is not feasible, Texiera is too good. Jeter does not hit with sufficient power to justify a DH role. He will probably have to look at either left or right field at some point. The other issue is will Jeter want to say with the Yanks in a reduced and lower-priced (not everyday player) role as Pete Rose and Robin Yount did?

Yes. A-Rod's not going anywhere. His 10 year contract will carry him into his mid 40s, and it's going to be difficult for him to find another contract after that. Jeter? He's never leaving the Yankees. I guarantee you that. I'd like to see A-Rod and Jeter each retire the same year actually. That would be a special season, if 2 special Yankees both have their last season at the same time.

A.) of coarse they will, they are the best players ever.
2009-09-09 2:48 am
Yeah, that's the intention.

Maybe Jeter but probably not a-rod evenn though he signend that huge contract. A-rod does not seem to have the same dedication that jeter has to the yankees.

Yes, they will.

And I believe Johnny Damon will too, if the Yankees resign him.
