Was it friendly , how were the bars, restaurants, places of interest etc. I won't ask about the weather as it has been awful even for us Glaswegians

I'm just a 45 minute train journey from Glasgow. I usually get in a couple of times a year and the first places I head are the bookshops, then to other shops if I have any money left.

Sometimes I come into Glasgow to visit a museum or gallery.

I like Glasgow ,but I'm a country girl at heart.

When I head home I go to the "Cornish Pasty Company" stall in Central Station and treat my to a "steak and Stilton" pastie. It's very tasty. I'm looking forward to my treat when I visit Glasgow again in a couple of weeks time.

What museum would you recommend for me this time? (I was at the Kelvingrove last time I was in Glasgow. Loved it.

Had my car broken into, threatened by drunken man on street and had a bag with new jeans in it lifted when in cafe... about my usual experience of Glasgow

Three really great art Galleries, Kelvingrove (World Class!), Burrell and Pollock House. The Cathedral. There is not much else.

Restaurants are generally dreadful, the best is supposed to be 'The Chip'. ('nuff said) The best are ethnic, Italian, Chinese and Indian.

Bars. Some nice (Great!) new Scottish themed places. The Horseshoe is a bit sad but is famous.

BUT. Glasgow has only about one sixth of the population of Scotland. It has 70% of the violent crime.

It also has something called 'secetarianism'. This is something unique to Glasgow. The police even allow anti-Roman Catholic processions to take place. Imagine if you held an anti-Jewish procession in North London. Would that be allowed? I once took a Canadian lady to see the fabulous cathedral. The streets were empty when we came out. It seems that there had been an anti-Catholic riot with charges by police horses and all that. Just a normal day in Glasgow, we were told.
Glasgow is frighteningly different.
