本人在09年5月份取得移民資格,並在7月4日到美國報到,大約2星期,收到綠咭,上面印著我入境日期,之後我帶回綠咭返港(7月尾)
我想盡量在半年內再入境(因避免要解釋),我想問一問,半年之時間,應由我離境那日計,還是在綠咭上之日期呢?
還有,我暫時未打算長居美國(2年內),我仍會2邊走,我聽人講,要維持公民資格,是要在美國報稅的,另外,因我在港工作,還需要在港申報,請問詳情係點既呢??

You should start counting from your date of departure.Basically, U.S. assess tax on worldwide income of all U.S. residents.
So even you pay Hong Kong Tax, you will still have to pay the difference to the United States.

first, you can stay in HK more than half year but NOT more than 360 days.
in your situation, i will suggested you apply re-entry premit next time you back to state. ( you must apply it in person --- need finger pant . ) so you can leave and back any time whitin 2 years without any customs questioning.
yes, you still need to file tax return to US grovernemnt, if you are not make over $80,000 USD a year income in HK. you don't need to pay any US tax....... so just report, no pay.
an old law but just enforce it by IRS, if you have money in investment and bank account in HK ( or oversea ), if total excess $10,000 USD at anytime in a year. you have to file the report ------- again, just report. but IF you didn't file it and IRS find out. you may be fine up to $100,000 USD and/or in jail up to 2 years.
