1. a^5 * a^-5 = 1, as when multiplying one number with different powers, you simply add the powers together. 1^-3 = 1
Therefore, the answer to question one is 1.

2. (3x)^3 = 27x^3
(2x)^2 = 4x^2
27x^3 * 4x^2 = (27*4)x^(2+3)
(27*4)x^5 / 4x = (27*4/4)x^(5-1) = 27x^4
(27x^4)^2 = (27*27)x^(4*2)
=729x^8
