carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane, nitrogen
there is ONE substance that is different from the others in terms of their properties.
Identify and explain.

The answer is nitrogen.

All of carbon monoxide, hydrogen and methane can burn. On the other hand, nitrogen cannot burn.

"Containing oxygen" is NOT a "property".

This is not a good question . Answer #1 is Nirogen . You say nitorgen will not burn but how about N2 + 2O2-----> NO2 during thunder storm . So all can react with oxygen to form respective oxides ! #2 is Carbon monoxide is not because it contains oxygen but rather it can combine with oxygen easily to form carbon dioxide . It is a very poisoneous gas . When it is absorbed in blood will make the hemoglobin functionless that one will die soon !
