A shopkeeper raised the price of a table by 20%.Later he sold the table at discount of 20%.How did the selling price compare with the original price?Use an example to explain.

Let the original price be $100.

A shopkeeper raised the price of a table by 20%

$100*(1+20%)=$120

Later he sold the table at discount of 20%.

$120*(1-20%)=$96

The selling price compared with the original price
$96-$100= - $4

The selling price drops $4.

(4/$100)*100%=4%

Actually, the shopper keeper sold the table at discount of 4%.
