首先,你應該是想問為甚麼此句有兩個動詞(verbs)
先講about是介詞(preposition),而跟隨介詞之後必須是名詞,動名詞,或名詞相等語
而你的示句,about之後就是名詞子句(noun clause)(所謂名詞子句是:它是一句子句,但功用上如同名詞,或作受詞,或作主詞)
而名詞子句既為子句當然有它自己的動詞
which direction local stock will go這名詞子句,是about的受詞
而are是主動詞,是主句的動詞
