You are 100% correct. I am a die hard Flyers fan but I still think Ovechkin is the best by far. so much better then crybaby crosby. Zetterburg is underrated and as for datsuyk i dont think he is in the top 5 but definatley in the top 10.

Sidney Crosby : 290 games, 397 points (1.37 Points Per Game).
Evgeni Malkin 242 games, 304 points (1.26 Points Per Game).
Alexander Ovechkin 324 games, 420 points (1.30 Points Per Game).

Now, Zetterberg and Datsyuk are more complete players, so I'm not going to put them in the argument(Just because the fact they are defensive players--where point totals can be misleading) but if I did, these was their numbers...

Pavel Datsyuk 526 games, 522 Points (0.99 Points Per Game).
Henrik Zetterberg 432 Games, 405 games (0.94 Points Per Game).

I'm curious to see everyones answer 5 or 10 years from now. Oveckin plays hard and he's awesome; I'm not discrediting him for that. But look at this stat:

Zetterberg wouldn't be in my top 15 or 20 and is not even close to being anywhere near the best player in the NHL. Datsyuk you're a little warmer with but he's at best a top 5 player in the NHL and still not the best in the NHL. Ovechkin is in the top 3 at least and again IMO isn't the top NHL player. I don't see how anyone could say Ovechkin's a better All-around player than Crosby when he quite simply isn't even close to being even a better physical player, defensive, offensive or close to being a better passer than Crosby. The only point that I would give to Ovechkin over Crosby is his goal scoring ability. Crosby is the best player in the NHL, 2nd would be Malkin or Ovechkin.

I am also a Flyers fan but please don't be blinded by the homerism that you have in yourself in excluding Malkin and Crosby.

They are better than Datsyuk and Zetterberg and possibly better than Ovechkin there is the whole debate on here that no one cares about any more.

Ovechkin's an extremely good player, however, I think Crosby and Malkin are better than him. Crosby just has way more talent than him, plus Malkin just has that whole die-hard attitude about playing. Ovechkin is more a do-it-himself guy, and he's the only really good player on the Caps, so of course he's gonna be the one taking the most shots on goal, which means more goals. But he's way too cocky, he ruins hockey. He plays for all the wrong reasons.

I hope Ovechkin gets run over by a Zamboni.
