4x - 3 = 5 - 9x
4x + 9x = 5 + 3
13x = 8
x = 8/13

Answer: x = 8/13

Check:
4(8/13) - 3 = 5 - 9(8/13)
32/13 - 39/13 = 65/13 - 72/13
- 7/13 = - 7/13

13x=8
x=8/13
