By triangular inequality,the sum of two sides of a triangle must be greater than the other side of the triangle.
Consider triangle ABC,
AB + BC > AC ... (1)
Consider triangle ACD,
AD + DC > AC ... (2)
(1) + (2):
We get,
AB + AD + BC + DC > 2AC
