a block of mass 6kg resting on a rough inclined plane. the angle of inclination of the plane is 30 degrees.
find the frictional force and the normal reaction acting on the block

As the block is resting on the plane, by Newton's 1st law of motion, the net force acting on it is zero.

So, frictional force = component of weight down the slope

= mgsin@

= (6)(10)sin30*

= 30 N

In this case, normal reaction = mgcos@

= (6)(10)cos30*

= 52.0 N
