其實如果是格言的話﹐那麼最正確的就是

No pain no gain.

經常被翻譯成沒有不勞而獲的事。

There is no free lunch.

是按中文去翻譯的。在台灣我們一定會懂﹐但是個人覺得在歐美可能一般人一下會會意不過來﹐甚至會聽不懂。

這句話原來是從英文翻譯過來的. 原來的說法已經在幾位回答中說明, There is no such thing as a free lunch. 中文翻譯為了強調, 就加上了"天下"二字. 所以翻譯的時候其實不需要把天下二字翻譯出來, 其意思在 There is就包括了.

1.That's no free lunch, you must work for what you want.
2.there's no such thing as free lunch

Free lunch 當然是英文翻過來的啊~很常見的用法。
