I'd like to know If I should use "is" or "are" when I use "here".
Here is the sentence:

Here_____ a teddy bear and some cups.

Should I fill in "is" or "are"?

As for me, I will definitely go for "are" since " a teddy bear and some cups" mean more than one item. We call it subject-verb agreement right?
I am so confused now because my friend told me the opposite.

This friend of mine says "Here is a teddy bear and some cups" is another kind of
sentence structure.

i will use "are" because "teddy bear and some cups" are in parallel
structure but my friend said it should be "is", because "is" refering to "A teddy bear", and "Some cups" is another structure....
