1. Let X and X+ 3 be the price of the ceramic cats,3(x+3) +4x +7= 100
3x+9+4x+7 =100
7x+16=100
7x=84
x=12 and x+3 = 12+3 =15
The ceramic cats costs are $12 and $15.

30 W+20(W+1)= 24(w+w+1)
30w+20w +20 =24(2w+1)
50w+20=48w+24
50w-48w=24-20
2w=4
w=2
