香港高爾夫球總會的 Handicap Card 是根據 USGA 的標準定立的，目的旨在計算球員的能力，提供一個能用以比較的數字 ( Handicap Index ) 。詳細的計算方法並不重要，最重要的是要知道 Handicap Index 愈低的球員，代表他們能力愈好，而一般的球員的 Handicap Index 在 10 至 20 之間。
