I went to Montreal and Quebec City last week, the tour guide can't give me the name of this waterfall:

On the 40 heading east or west?Edited to add: Ok, heading *to* Quebec City, I can't think of anything right off the island, like you say. As Steven points out, there is nothing but relatively flat farm land between the end of Mtl and right before QC.

Are you sure you are not thinking of the Montmorency Falls? Those are visible from Highway 40 near Quebec City, on your way to Mont Ste. Anne.

Other than this, there are no "significant" waterfalls just outside of Montreal off Highway 40. That would be the area around Repentigny, which is pretty flat with farmland and forest.
