x/(y + 1) + 1/(2y + 2) = -3
x/(y + 1) + 1/[2(y + 1)] = -3
2(y + 1){x/(y + 1) + 1/[2(y + 1)]} = 2(y + 1)(-3)
2x + 1 = -6(y + 1)
2x + 1 = -6(y) - 6(1)
2x + 1 = -6y - 6
2x + 6y = -1 - 6
2x + 6y = -7

x/(y+1) + 1/(2y+2)= -3
[2x/(2y+2)] + [1/( 2y+2)] = -3
(2x+1)/(2y+2) = -3
2x+1 = -6y -6
2x = -6y -7
2x + 6y = -7
I don't know any simpler.

x/(y+1) + 1/(2y+2)= -3

x/(y+1) + 1/2(y+1) = -3

multiply by (y+1)

x + 1/2 = -3(y+1)

multiply by 2

2x + 1 = -6(y + 1)

x / ( y + 1 ) + 1 / [ 2 ( y + 1 ) ] = - 3

2 x + 1 = - 6 y - 6

2 x + 6 y = - 7
