Ann got 7 cats, 3 of them are more expensive than the rest 4 by $3.Let $y be the cost of each of the 4 less expensive ceramic cats.
Then, cost of each of the 3 more expensive ceramic cats = $(y + 3)
Total cost of the 3 more expensive ceramic cats = $3(y + 3)
Total cost of the 4 less expensive ceramic cats = $4y
Money that she paid for the ceramic cats = $(100 - 7)
3(y + 3) + 4y = 100 - 7
3y + 9 + 4y = 93
7y = 84
y = 12
y + 3 = 15
Cost of each of the 3 more expensive ceramic cats = $15
Cost of each of the 4 less expensive ceramic cats = $12
