為何哥爾夫球被指為不環保的運動?

因為興建哥爾夫球場時可能需要砍伐大量樹木，草地亦要重新鋪設。
而且高球運動因其需要大量優質土地。哥爾夫球場使用大量的農藥，哥爾夫球場必須使用大量的農藥來使球場單一的（非本地）草種經常維持綠油油一片，大量的農藥因此會污染水源和地下水。
農藥不單滲進水源，還會停留在空氣中對居民構成危險，住在哥爾夫球場附近的居民無可避免地長期吸入這些有害的農藥，勢必造成嚴重的健康問題。

cos it may involve cutting down trees
and other animals cannot live in the place - so animals number would decrease
if they only live there - they go extinct / decrease in population i.e birds rely on tree for nest and fruit for food
since there are less tress - less CO2 is absorbed by trees - more CO2 to the atmosphere - greenhouse effect
it may contribute to soil erosion coz less tree roots to hold onto the soil.
