Not to worry. This is an easy one ;)

All you do is use Cancellation.

We're gonna solve for 'y' 1st.

x+3y=4
-2y+3x=1

Line up the x's and y's:
x+3y=4
3x-2y=1

Multiply the 1st eq. by -3
-3x-9y=12
3x-2y=1

Add them together, cancelling out the x's.
-11y= -11
-11/-11=1
y=1

Now, using y, solve for x (you can use either eq; I chose to use the 1st):
x+3y=4

Replace y with 1:
x+3=4

Solve:
x=4-3
x=1

Yay! All done! and both of your variables are 1.
Always be sure to check your work by plugging them back into the original equations!

y=a million-3x; a million-3x+4=5x; 5= 8x; x= 5/8; 15/8+y=a million; y=-7/8 x=-5y+10 ; -5y+10=2y-8; 18=7y; y=18/7; x=2(18/7)-8; x=-20/7 x=y-3; 3(y-3)+2y=7; 5y-9=7; y=sixteen/5; x-sixteen/5+3=0; x=a million/5 y=5x-6; 2x-3(5x-6)=4; -13x+18=4; -13x=-14; x=14/13; 70/13=y+6; y = -8/13 y=3x-7; 8x= 2(3x-7)+5; 8x=6x-14+5; 2x=-9; x=-9/2; -27/2=y+7; y=-40-one/2

2x + 6y = 8
9x - 6y = 3-----ADD

11 x = 11
x = 1

1 + 3y = 4
y = 1

x = 1 , y = 1

Solve by using substitution.

x + 3y = 4
-2y + 3x = 1

x + 3y = 4
x = (4 - 3y) ...... (1)

-2y + 3x = 1

Substitute (1) for x.
-2y + 3(4 - 3y) = 1
-2y + 12 - 9y = 1
-2y - 9y = 1 - 12
-11y = -11
y = -11/(-11)
y = 1

x + 3y = 4

Substitute 1 for y.
x + 3(1) = 4
x = 4 - 3
x = 1

∴ x = 1, y = 1

x + 3y = 4 therefore x = 4-3y

-2y + 3x = 1 therefore 3x = 1 + 2y so x = (1+2y)/3

Then put the two equations equal to each other:

4-3y= (1+2y)/3 so 12-9y=1+2y

Therefore 11y=11
y=1

so x=1

you can use ur Casio calculator :D :D :D

x+ 3y = 4 --> x = 4 - 3y

-2y + 3x =1
-2y + 3(4 - 3y) =1
-2y + 12 -9y = 1
-11y = -11
y = 1

x = 4 -3y, x = 4-3(1) = 1

Hence x = 1 and y =1
