有關英文用字方面

Fault 名詞有好多個解釋例如：故障, 過失和缺點
而動詞方面就有呢兩個意思：挑剔,指責
係名詞既解釋之中，亦有「故障」這個意思，An imperfection 故障 in a device or machine (同義詞：defect, flaw) ＳＯ　ＦＡＵＬＴ就係「defect 」既同義詞啦.

簡單造句例子:
There are several faults in the page of figures.
果頁的數字中有幾個差錯。
以上既例子中既fault並唔係DEFECT既同義字,因為這裡的FAULT既意思係過失,錯誤,唔係機器，儀器既故障。
Defect　名詞只有一個meaning就系 缺點
但如果要細分,可以分做
1) 缺點;弱點[a failing]or不足,缺陷,缺點[deficiency]
2) 一個身體上的、物質上的唔完美同瑕疵
3) 一個損壞, 糟蹋左某樣東西 (特別係在一個人既身體) 的外觀外表既污點同埋瑕疵
4) an imperfection in a device or machine
同義詞：fault, flaw
以上呢個MEANING(4) 同FAULT係同義詞,都係故障既意思.
簡單造句例子:
A defect in the fuel lines prevented the missile from blasting off.
燃料管路上既一個缺陷妨礙左導彈既發射。
The new car had to be withdrawn from the market because of a mechanical defect.
果種新汽車因為有機械缺陷,於是唯有撤出市場.
以上呢兩句中的DEFECT可以用FAULT黎取代!因為都係講緊device and machine入面既imperfection

Fault normally refers to doing something wrong
- This is all my fault. I should have not told him what has happened.

Defect normally refers to something
- I find defect on the T shirt.

fault = 錯誤,過失
Her doctor was at fault in giving her the wrong pills.

defect = 缺點,不良品
The customer complained that there are 30% goods are defected.
