[1] The base area and the height of a cylinder are increased by 10% and 15% respectively. Find the percentage change in its volume.
[2] The cost of manufacturing an article is $160. The manufacturer sells it to a dealer a profit of 45% and the dealer sells it to purchaser for $266.8. Find the dealer's profit percent.

[3] Wai Ying has joined a slimming treatment course which costs $20000. She intends to reduce her weight from 250 pounds to 150 pounds. What is the percentage decrease in her weight? In order to attract customer, the beauty shop promised a cash rebate of $500 for every 5% of reduction in weight. What is the actual amount of Wai Ying paid for the treatment if she can reach her target weight?

Let A and h be the original base area and the height of the cylinder.

Original area
= Ah

New area
= [A(1 + 10%)] x [h(1 + 15%)]
= 1.265Ah

Percentage change in volume
= [(1.265Ah - Ah)/(Ah)] x 100%
= +26.5%

The dealer's cost price
= $160 x (1 + 45%)
= $232

The dealer's selling price
= $266.8

The dealer's profit percent
= [(266.8 - 232)/232] x 100%
= 15%


[3]
Percentage decrease in Wai Ying's weight
= [(250 - 150)/250] x 100%
= 40%

Cash rebate
= $500 x (40%/5%)
= $4000

Actual amount of Wai Ying paid for the treatment
= $(20000 - 4000)
= $16000
