When you solve these equations you need to get x on its own.
To get x on its own you have to group like terms , which means group things that are the same and put them on the same side of the equals, so in this equation you have two x's = 2x and 5x
As the 2x has a three next to it it will be this section that moves over to the other side. When it moves over to the other side its sign changes so in this case it will become -2x. Then you simplify. Once you got to this stage you divide the 'x' number by the number on the other side in this case 3 divide by 3

2x+3=5x
3 = 5x-2x
3 = 3x
1 = x
x = 1

Hope this hasd helped

you will have to move the 2x to the right hand side of the equation by subtracting it from both sides.

2x + 3 = 5x will become 2x + 3 -2x = 5x - 2x
simplify: 3 = 3x
to get x you will need to divide both sides by 3
so the above will become----- x = 1

to check just substitute into the equation- so....

2(1) + 3 = 5(1)

2 + 3 = 5

5 = 5 it is true so x is equal to 1

i hope i helped!!

2x +3=5x
Subtract 2x from both sides
2x - 2x + 3 = 5x - 2x
3 = 3x
Divide by 3
3/3 = 3x/3
1 = x (Answer)

subtract 2x from 5x

you have to get the x's on one side of the equation

so it now reads:
3=3x

x=1

try it with the original formula
2*1+3=5*1

3 = 3 x

x = 1

From: 2x+3=5x,
=> 3 = 5x - 2x,
=> 3 = 3x,
=> 3x = 3,
=> x = 3/3,
=> x = 1.

2x + 3 = 5x

Rearrange the equation so that like terms are together. Change the sign of the term if you'll place it on the other side of the equal sign. This is called transposition.

2x - 5x = -3
-3x = -3 (Divide both sides by -3)
x = 1

Checking:
2(1) + 3 = 5(1)
2 + 3 = 5
5 = 5

Thus, x = 1
Hope this helps.

hello

first you must move all variables ( all x ) to one side , and all constants ( in this case it is the 3 ) to one side like this :

3 = 5x - 2x ( note that 2x is now with inverted sign ( - )

3 = 3x

and you isolate x alone to one side like this :

3/3 = x

x = 1

( if it was for instance 3=2x then it would be 3/2=x )

subtract 2x from both sides 3=3x 1=x

move 2x+ to the other side of equal then u no that when u move anything over the equal sign the sign of the two changes to minus so u subtract 2x-5x then we get positive three remember (take the sign of the biggest number when u sub. or add) u take three and three u get them over three then u erase 3x over three (keep the x) then you divide 3 and 3 then u get 1 so x=1
tadaaaaa
