I always use http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online retailers (including the ones already mentioned here) so you end up with the best prices for all the books you need. And you can even specify whether you want to search for used, new, or both types of books. It's pretty cool actually.

You can try alibris, ebay or www.textbookw.com. These site sell cheap textbooks.

I buy most of mine on ebay or amazon. Saved 35% off new bookstore prices. You have to start early and be persistent, though.

Be careful of the "International Versions" You can usually spot them easily because they are WAAAAY cheaper than comparable listings.

I'm not sure about all of them, but I have had a lot of luck with ebay!
