Two particles of weight W and W' respectively rest on a fixed smooth sphere of radius r. The particles are connected by an elastic string of natural length l that passes through a smooth ring at O, a point at a height h(>r) vertically above the centre C of the sphere. The elastic constant (force per unit extension) of the string is k. Find the tension in the string and the reactions between the particles and the sphere for the configuration of equilibium.
