its depends on if you are the first time ever going to italy.
if you are, you should first go to Rome, Milan, Venice and Florence.
if you love history, everywhere will be good for you in Italy.
They are all very pretty place, but in my opinion,

Rome is kind of dirty, and some of the people are very rude there, so you better learn a little bit italian before, if you a going by yourself.

Milan, iwill say one day is alot for this city, becos there is only one area is nice, which where the Duomo is, and next to the Duomo, you can do all your shopping. and its a very dangerous place in front of the Duomo, be careful with your bags, and also those black people there, they will come to you and try to sell you thing, even you dont want, and ofcos they have a way to do it, and chrage you for 20Euro for that stupid thing.

Venice is very very beautiful, i will stay there for a long time, but i live very close to venice, so i never stay in their hotel. and if you like sun and swimmimg, there is a very nice beach there!

Florence, ofcos very beautiful as well, and have to go on the hill, where that famos cafe are, you can catch the bus there from the city centre, and you can buy the bus ticket from where they sell news paper.
and ofcos, here is the best place to buy Gucci, becos they a the cheapest in all over Italy! they also have a lot of outlet that near by, for all those prada, D&G, miu miu, chanel.... but need to go with train.

other than these major city, you can go to the south, more beach and sun and different kind of italian food, but more dangerous.

if you like more tradional italian place, not big city, Padova is a very nice place, this is where i live, people are very nice, still very beautiful, close to padova, there is a place called Assolo, around 45mins drive from Padova, this is the best place i have ever seen in italy, its on the hill, and its just so pretty, you will never find someplace like this, so if you have time, this will be the best place to go!

for larger cities, personally i like florence. you may also go to venice, but i think it's a total tourist point and you cannot feel what italy is there. milan is so so and rome is abit dirty.
for small town, i recommend assisi and perugia. asisi is a very exotic place where u will feel peace n calm. perugia is kinda a historical place.

You should go to big cities like Rome, Florence, Pisa, Milan, Venice, etc. They are the must-go places. If you have spare time, you could also go to Turin, Bologna, Siena, etc...
