2X^2 + 20X + 50

or

2(X^2 + 10X + 25)

or

2(X^2 + 5X + 5X +25)

or

2(X (X + 5) + 5( X + 5))

or

2(X+5) (X+5)

or

First you have to factor out the greatest common factor of 2.

2(x^2 + 10x + 25)

This is a perfect square trinomial, so you can factor it by writing x, then the sign from the middle term, then the square root of the last term, inside a set of brackets, and then squaring the brackets.

2(x + 5)^2

a^2 + 2ab + b^2 ≡ (a + b)^2

2x^2 + 20x + 50
= 2(x^2) + 2(10x) + 2(25)
= 2(x^2 + 10x + 25)
= 2[x^2 + 2(x)(5) + 5^2]
= 2(x + 5)^2

Its 2(x+5)^2. Possibly you forgot that 2 is common in ALL the terms and the reast is a perfect square.
