Southern View on Slavery:

African Americans cannot survive on their own and needed a master to take care of them.

In a free country, no one should be enslaved.

* The interesting thing to note is that while Southerners looked down upon the African American race as a whole, they loved the man. Northerners loved the idea of the African American race but hated the man himself.
What I mean is that when an actual African American went to the North, he was often times beat up and treated in humuliating ways because the immigant workers thought that he was trying to steal theri jobs.
In the South, there are many slaves who were buried next to their masters with engravings such as "The much loved and missed _____".
