Can someone tell me why my webcam won't work (10 points best answer)?

I had this problem with my VX1000!

Uninstall the software, unplug the Webcam, uninstall the Driver by going to, "Control Panel", "Device Manager", "Imaging Devices" (or something like that) and then finding the VX3000 and right clicking, "Uninstall Driver Software" and "Delete Driver Software" in the new window that pops up. Then reboot, and download this:

Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=ICE&type=Webcams&name=VX3000&os=WVista_32&lang=en

XP: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=ICE&type=Webcams&name=VX3000&os=XP_SP2&lang=en

Then run it, and follow the instructions. It should ask you to plug in your webcam, do so when it says to install the software and drivers. After it's finished you might need to reboot if it says, then go here:

http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger&wa=wsignin1.0

Download and run that file to install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger.

Then reboot.

Then launch WLM, head over to webcam and see if it works - it worked like a charm for me. :)
