<飛象過河>的英文

我相信您說的是中國象棋（西洋象棋沒有“河”）。

象（相）的英文主要有兩個譯法：

elephant、minister（以前 chessvariants.com 除了這兩個名稱外，還有“bishop”，但後來刪除了）

我認為“飛象過河”的英文應該可以這樣說：

The elephant crossed the river.

The elephant is crossing the river.

The elephant moved across the river.

我不主張用“ford”及“wade”，因為是下棋的過程，實際上是棋子 moves，不宜用太形象化的動物動作。如果說“The elephant waded across the river.”聽起來就好像是《胡桃夾子》、《玩具反斗奇兵》故事了。

“不可飛象過河”可以這樣說：

The elephants may not cross the river.（解釋基本規則）

The elephant may not cross the river.（針對某一步棋）

雖然把“飛象過河”引申為“不守規則”看起來頗為合理，鮮有這樣用（另外，“事急馬行田”也不是“不守規則”的意思），一般“飛象過河”只用於“過界”、“越境”。以這個意思來說，便應該是：“across the border”、“across the territory”、“cross-border”（形容詞）、“cross-territory”（形容詞）、“to cross the border”……等等。例如：

萬華警飛象過河 破板橋毒窟

至於“用國際象棋語法來翻譯這個中國象棋語法”，我認為不適當的，因為畢竟是兩種不同的遊戲，有各自不同的情況。就以本例為例，國際象棋就沒有“河”。強行把“飛象過河”說成“走得好像車”也不倫不類，因為“飛象過河”的象沒像車那樣橫直移動。

“萬華警飛象過河 破板橋毒窟”絕對不是“不守規則”，台灣及香港均有不少警員往不同區辦案的個案。

“The elephant leaps over the forbidden river .”仍然是童話故事的句子。

象棋有一種玩法十分流行，在香港稱之為「棋」。維基百科也有介紹，叫「揭棋」。

揭棋
揭棋亦稱潮州象棋，使用整個中國象棋棋盤，開始時除了帥、將可保留原位，不用洗亂之外，其他棋子亦要洗亂，然後放在平日正式象棋玩法的棋子位置中。揭棋的翻子需跟該棋子第一次移動同時進行，但該棋子的第一次移動的走法，需依照它的位置在一般中國象棋玩法時所在的棋子的走法。揭棋另一有趣之處是它容許了飛象過河、士過河。而揭棋的其他方面（一般走子、取勝條件等），都和象棋相同的。

英文可以譯為 [twist the rules]
如果要用國際象棋語法來翻譯這個中國象棋語法，可以譯為： ignore the rules and move the bishop like a rook

這句真不易譯呀！相信樓主不是想要字面解的 [the elephant crossed the river]。 但如果又要包括字面解釋，又要有犯規 (不准過河超境) 的含義，但又不說明是玩象棋，[飛象過河] 或可譯成：
The elephant leaps over the forbidden river.
