well, according to scientists, the sun will "swallow" the inner planets (mercury, venus and earth in about 14 billion years i wouldn't start packing as yet.

On Dec. 21, 2012. The earth will reach a position in space. As the earth revolves around our Sun, which in turns revolves around with in the Milky Way Galaxy. At this conjuncture the axis of our planet will be perpendicular to the center line of the our Galaxy. In the last one million years we have returned to this relative position 77 times. Roughly every 13,000 years. There may be some additional gravitational flux, high tides, etc. There are no written records of the last time we were here. We where in the final stage of an ice age that ended 11,000 to 13,000 years ago.
It is very doubtful that the world will end on Dec. 21, 2012.

No it's a dumb prophecy that a lot of people make a lot of money off of.

Why do you want to die for something as foolish as that? The world could just as easily end tomorrow or 10 millions years from now? Your purpose in life is to live life until you die and make it a better world for those who will die before you or those who die after you? It is ungodly to speculate, especially when people almost seem thst they are desperately praying and hoping that God will destroy the world that God created and called good and that he loves so much.

Aren't we all. There are all kinds of different predictions. Some say the end of the world, some say the end of the world as we know it as in no electricity or gas or modern conveniences...Going back to nature. Some say that there will be a great change in the consciousness on the earth and great peace will come.

People of many different belief systems are predicting something in 2012. Nostradamus, The Mayans, Christians, Native Americans and Meta-physicians. I am sure there are others also..

Only God knows what will really occur, but it seems something big is coming.
