The Power Symbol

2^1 = 2 = 2 to the power or 1
2^2 = 2 x 2 = 2 squared
2^3 = 2 x 2 x 2 = 2 cubed
2^4 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 2 to the power of 4
2^5 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 2 to the power of 5

3^2 = 3 x 3 = 3 squared
3^3 = 3 x 3 x 3 = 3 cubed

There can have two meaning
first is exponent for ex. 3^2 = 9 something like that

and a second meaning is conjunction for ex. p^q (p and q)

^ represents an index or exponent, most known as the power. For example:
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 2^4. (2 to the power of four)
