What is the useage of suggest?

當suggest是解做”提議”時，它要與gerund(動名詞)，或that子句，或wh子句連用，如：
I suggest our going to church on Sunday.
I suggest (that) we (should) wait a while before we make any firm
而解作暗示，則可直接用object，或名詞片語
Her expression suggested pleasure
Something about his manner suggested a lack of interest in what we were doing.

若解做”使人聯想”就要用to帶出，使哪人聯想
如：
That cloud suggests a boat to me.
那朵雲使我聯想到船。

還有，若含有建議、推薦時，後面跟受詞，而用to帶出，向誰建議或推薦
如：

Can you suggest a restaurant to us?

'What shall we give the children?' 'I suggest hamburgers.'

I suggested some solutions to the problem of noise pollution.
(+ phrase) = Transitive Verb
He suggests building the flyovers to ease the traffic flow.
(+ gerund)
The doctor suggests that he (should) eat less fat and more vegetables.
(+ that + clause)
