How can Jack Straw justify?

not releasing Ronnie Biggs, who is no threat to anyone,
I know a guard died as a result of the great train robbery, but Biggs didn't kill him, there are hundreds if not thousands of real convicted killers walking our streets because Jack Straw cant or wont serve them with real justice, our streets were a lot safer in the Biggsies Krays and Richadsons days, Now its no longer allowed, release this old man Mr Straw let him die in the arms of his family,
not a prison hospital,

well after reading your replies you deserve to live under the blanket of fear that plagues this country, you would rather seek vengeance against an old man and let the streets run with blood of innocence like Jimmy M ? if hanging was still leagal these feral pieces of sh-te would dance, but Biggsie would still only be banged up nil illegitmus carborundum mon ami's

The question must be asked and answered:How can an eighty years old pensioner pose a risk to anyone in the street?
When you use the descriptions unrepentant for a crime; Why for one reason or another half the country would be placed behind bars.
Now we have to ask this question; Why has Jack Straw not released Ronnie Biggs after strong recommendations from the Parole Board who have said he no longer poses a threat.
Why!Certain members of the House of Commons ought to be where he is right now after the way they have abused the expenses system.
What we are talking about here is one man's quest to be leader of his political party.
How can he (Jack Straw) best show his strength to the whole population than by denying Ronnie Biggs his freedom.
All this is party politics with a person's liberty!
An individuals liberty counts for nothing when it clashed with some ones political ambitions.
I bet Ronnie Biggs will be released within the next 6months by Jack Straw as a gesture that he is a kind compassionate person as his name goes forward in the ballot for the Labour Party leadership!
Keep party politics and personal ambitions separate from deciding on a persons liberty!

Biggs is a callous thug who has shown no remorse for robbery, torture and causing the death of a train driver who was going about his work. He has spent the proceeds of the robbery and only served five years of his thirty year sentence. Let the bastard die in gaol so we can dance on his grave.

Ronnie Biggs is not a threat to anyone, he should be released and permitted to go home,
If he was black or a pakkie then he would have been given a two week prison sentence, for murder, in a minimum security prison and a lawyer, on legal aid, so that he could sue the police when he got out.
Ronnie Biggs is not a threat to anyone he should be released.

He was sentenced to 30 years jail, in those days this was a very serious crime and the sentence reflected it. After 18 months he escaped and spent the next 30+ years sticking 2 fingers up to British Law. When he finally runs out of money and becomes ill he decides that now is the time to come home, so he can get free treatment. He knew when he came home he would go back to jail and he decided it was better there than staying in Brazil.
I just wish that all murderers and the like died in prison

Just because we let everyone else out early, doesn't mean we should let him out. The idea is not "stay in prison until you are too old or sick to hurt people" it's stay in prison until you have learnt your lesson. Otherwise it is not a punishment. Personally, I don't see how he could justify releasing him. The man has not served his sentence, and he should remain in prison until he has, or until he dies. It's a shame Mr. Straw can't be this tough with all our prisoners.

The fact that he's no threat to society is irrelevent,he's serving a sentence for a crime he commited.Wether or not he struck the blow is also irrelevent,he guilty by association.Currently he's in a civilian hospital with MRSA.The man is completely unrepentant and boasts that he'll go down in history and be famous. He can rot behind bars for me................

They intently regarded on the data over some years and found him harmless regardless of your definitely incorrect declare that he's in charge. i'm extremely joyful he's unfastened as an harmless guy, long stay actual justice for all. i'm no New Labour supporter yet they at the instant are not consistently incorrect ~~~~~~~~~~~~#~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ intense court judges ruled in December 2008 that Justice Secretary Jack Straw has the capability to undertaking a pardon. Jack Straw reported "in the sunshine of the factors that the court set out, i'm in the present day installation a technique below which i'm going to study the case to the quantity that the court has indicated that i'm in a position to do. "i'm going to be certain that the technique is undertaken as at as quickly as as conceivable, and would assure Michael Shields i'm going to attain a determination on whether to propose granting a pardon as rapidly as conceivable." I'm in agreement with John D. You should remember that Jack Mills the train driver was 57yrs of age when this happened and the blow to the head may not have killed him, but it COULD have, and I don't think Biggs would have worried. He hasn't shown any remorse, and if he hadn't escaped he would be out by now. The fact that he did escape means he should serve his whole sentence, whatever his age. The problem isn't that he is serving to long, it's that others who do similar things aren't serving enough time. If people think Biggs sentence is wrong, then I wonder what they think of the guy in America that has just got 150yrs for fraud, and he didn't harm anyone physically.

Jack Straw is leaving a bad example for the justice system. A person is too old is not a good excuses for not bringing a person to trial.

Now all the lawyers are going to use this case as their precedent for letting go old and sick criminals to go home.

Nobody died as a result of the robbery although Jack Mills the driver of the train was attacked and received head injuries for refusing to move the train further down the track, Biggs served fifteen months of a thirty year sentence before he escaped the other robbers completed there sentence, they did there time for the crime now Biggs has to do the same the fact that he is ill is irrelevant he is not being denied medical treatment which is the only reason he returned to the UK. If he had not squandered the money he stole he could have paid for medical treatment in Brazil
