regard 和 consider 的分別

regard 和 consider 這兩字在應用上的分別：
(1) Use "regard" or "considedr" as a verb, to mean "treat" or "look upon" 解 [當作]：通常用在 通知書或授權書。在這用法，[regard] 和 [consider] 大致可以通用，例如："please regard this letter as my authorization for Mr. John Chan to ......", 和 "please consider this letter as my authorization .......", 意思和用法都一樣。
(2) Use "consider" as a verb to mean "think it over" 解考慮: 通常用 proposal letter, application letter, offer letter 等要求人考慮的文件。只有 [consider] 可以用，[regard] 沒有這個解法。例如："Please consider our proposal and let us know your decision ...."; "Please consider me for this posistion ........."。
(3) Use "regard" as a verb to mean "concern", "relate to", "refer to" 解 [關於]。通常用在公文信的 topic sentence。例如："This letter regards your application to the Account Manager position ....."。
(4) Use "regard" in the idiom "as regards" to mean "concerning" 關於, and in the idiom "in regard to" or "with regard to" to mean "with respect to" 有關.
(5) Use "regard" as a nourn. "Consider" 只是 verb。"regard" 既是 verb， 又是 noun。"regard" 做 noun 的解法有很多，包括：(a) respect 尊敬 e.g. "people look at the professor with regard"。 (b) attention 理會 e.g. "please disregard the previous letter" (c) good wishes 祝福 e.g. "give the family my best regards"。(d) aspect 關於那一點 e.g. She is lucky in that regard.

"regard"即係"關於"。
常用用法之一: Regard to the topic, we suggested you...意思係"關於這個題目, 我們建議你...."

"consider"即係"考慮"。
常用用法之一: We should consider the problem now. 意思係"我們現在就應該考慮這個問題"。

兩個字文意有分別，常用既情況亦唔同，用慣左就會好易分。不過我都提下你啦，通常主觀陳詞時會較常用consider這個字，做formal report時，就常用regard to..., regarding...。千祈唔好譯左做中文先諗兩個字既用法有咩分別，因為兩個字既中文意思可以係某d場合十分接近，而英文用法就大大不一樣啦。
