P = 2x + 2w
2x = P - 2w
x = (P - 2w)/2
x = P/2 - 2w/2
x = P/2 - w

p = 2x + 2w
2x = p - 2w
x = (p - 2w)/2

Answer: x = (p - 2w)/2 OR x = 1/2p - w

Checking:
p = 2(1/2p - w) + 2w
p = p - 2w + 2w
p = p
