i need help. please explain. i know you flip the recipica and change it to multiplication:

1/6x * x/24

that makes 24/? i don't know what the bottom number is. the question says assume x doesnt = 0. the possible answers are:

4/x squared (the x part)

1/144

x squared/ 4 (the x part squared)

5/24

回答 (4)

✔ 最佳答案
1/(6x) ÷ x/24
= 1/(6x) * 24/x
= (1 * 24)/(6x * x)
= 24/(6x^2)
= (24/6)[1/(x^2)]
= 4/(x^2)

If I am understanding you,

( 1/(6x) ) / ( x/24 )
= ( 1/(6x) ) * ( 24/x )
= 4/x^2

You have to assume that x doesn't equal 0 because when you flip the second fraction x is then on bottom and you can't divide by 0.

So now that you've flipped it you have
1/6x * 24/x
So you can just multiply like normal
24/6(x squared)
You can reduce that to:
4/x squared-so yes you were right w/ your 1st answer.

You must present questions in a manner that they can`t be misread.

Is 1/6 x meant to be (i) (1/6)(x) OR (ii) 1 / (6x) ?

Trying (i) :-

(1/6) ( x ) 24 / x = 4

Trying (ii) : -

[ 1 / (6x) ] / [ x / 24 ] = 24 / ( 6 x ² ) = 4 / x ²

PS

Take care with presentation of questions ---------please !
