Fading out a hair dye?

I had my hair highlighted until last summer, and decided I wanted to go back to my natural brown. I have been growing out the dye since then nearly 10 months now, and only half of my hair is brown and the rest a faded blonde/gingery colour. I am going to a christening soon, and don't want my hair to look awful in the pictures, and don't want to dye my hair after trying to give my hair a rest. Is there anything I can use to get the colour to fade out? As it seems it will take at least another 10 months for it to be completely gone from my hair.

ADD colour instead.

unlike blonde to brunette, all you do is add.

when brunette goes blonde, its always, first blench, then add.

hence!

heres what happened, from brunette to blonde, the hair 1st blenched(to yellow) then coloured(adjusted to a natural looking blonde), its true you can always fade the colour out, but then the actual hair under would go back to the orginal blenched state(yellow). therefore, for going back to brown, your only option really is to ADD back the brown colour which you had blenched off in the 1st place.

if you worry about ruining the hair, buy the amoninia-free dye, which is really all that you ll need, what this formula does is a pure colour deposit, unlike standard hair dyes that often invlove first opening the hair cuticles and as a result making them more fragile.

in a few words, the solution is this simple:
just get a tube of amoninia-free brown colour.

Just use shampoo that will help you go bk to your natural hair colour.
If it didnt work, then yo cnt to anything about it [than die it brown]
It actually doesnt matter how your hair looks like, its all about how you carry a situation.
Goodluck.

Well you could try fairy liquid, or using alot of claryfying shampoos which will help, but won't fade it all away. Apart from that I suppose you could try a semi-permanent dye which would tone down the highlights alot and it would wash out eventually so you would get your natural brown.
