I was just wondering because my birthday is July 17th, and I'll be about 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant then. The baby is due July 27th according to my first ultrasound at 16 weeks and July 28th according to my second ultrasound at 20 weeks. We go with the 28th because the 27th is my ex boyfriend's birthday... lol, but I've been told that earlier ultrasounds are more accurate.
Anyways, is there a certain percentage of first time mom's who give birth before 40 weeks? I know it's more likely for them to go passed their due date, but just wondering if there is an average of before.
What are the chances of having a baby at 38 weeks for first time moms?

I gave birth to my son at 38 weeks, he is my first child.No inductions, no stupid 'induce me now' wacky old wives tales, he just decided he was coming out.
I don;t have a percentage sorry, but I can tell you it's not very high, unless you are a young teen (Not judging, but teens are more at risk of earlier deliveries)

my first baby i was induced due to high blood pressure but my second came on her own at 38 weeks she weighted 8lbs 7oz.....

i just had my first baby last july at 38 weeks. She came all on her own, no induction or petocin. It was a very quick labor only about 3 hrs to make it to 10 cm and a few pushes and she was out. But from what i hear i was very lucky at least in the actual delivery part.

I don't have any stats, but according to the instructor at my prenatal class, more and more babies are born before the 40-week mark (typically between 37-39 weeks). When your baby's gonna be born is completely up to the baby, unless you get induced or go for a C-section. I used to want my baby to come out earlier...but I am in my 37th week now and I have to admit, I want him to stay inside longer. That way, it gives me more time to enjoy being pregnant and more time for me to get things more-prepared.

38 weeks is way to young to have a baby. you should wait until your in your 20s maybe. go to school and get a good job first so you can support the baby.

this convo makes me nervous. I am 34weeks with my first now. and tho I am ready for him to come so the pelvic pains and frequent pee'ing will stop.... I'm hella nervous. OMG he could be here in one month!
