no 後面跟 singular / plural 有咩別?

首先要講的是：no可與可數名詞的單數、複數或不可數名詞連用
如：No words can express my grief. (可數名詞眾數）
　　No student is to leave the room.（可數名詞單數）
　　I have no time at all to write to you.（不可數名詞）
至於用複數或單數，就要看所說事物是單數還是複數而定，例 如：（ 1 ）He has no heart（ 他 沒 有 同 情 心 ）。（ 2 ）He has no hands（ 他 雙 手 都 沒 有 了 ） 。（ 3 ） He seems to hate me for no reason / reasons at all（ 他憎恨我，似乎沒有什麼原因 ）。
至於那物件若可以用複數和單數的話，單數形只是強調法，強調一個都沒有（但意思其實沒有分別）

no可以用複數形，是因為no不等於one

一般都不會說 'there is no apple,' 文法上不對.
正確的說法是 'there are no apples.' 因為 'no' 之後的noun必須用
plural form.

e.g. I have no ideas about it.
My school has no computer rooms.

如在對話中, 有人問: Is there an apple?
你的answer應是: No, there aren't any apples. OR There are no apples.
(表示一個都沒有的意思)

都不可以完全说 There is no apple. 的语法上是不正确，要看那个讲这句话的人怎么样想或表达而已。不过，There are no apples. 都是比较合理和常用的。

我们也必须知道一点，那就是如果遇到可数的名词 (countable noun)，通常我们用 no 跟随着复数的状态 (plural form) 的，反而如果遇到不可数的名词 (uncountable noun)，通常我们用 no 跟随着单数的状态 (singular form) 咯。

还有的是，我们通常都会写或说 I have no idea about it. 而不是 I have no ideas about it. 的，因为 idea 在这里是个不可数的名词 (uncountable noun) 或普通名词 (common noun) 来的。

There is no apple. >>這裡沒有蘋果
There are no apples >>這裡沒有少於一個蘋果
因為apple是數得到的,所以可加"s"

但例如 rice ,由於rice是數不到的,因此不能寫為"no rices"
