- 4.8 < 0.8 m
- 48 < 8 m
m > - 6

-0.8m < 4.8
m > 4.8/(-0.8)
m > -6

-0.8m<4.8
multiply both sides by -1, we get
0.8m>-4.8(note that sign of inequality changes when multiplied by -1)
m>-(4.8)/0.8

stop asking the same question with different numbers.. it honestly would take you less time if you got out a calculator and did it yourself..

Divide both sides by -0.8. Since you are dividign by a negative, flip the inequality symbol around. The answer is:

m > -6

Divide both sides by -.8. When you divide an inequality by a negative you have to turn your sign around, so it's going to be m > -6. Then you can just sub in value to check your answer (always a good idea in algebra). Any value greater than -6 will do, so lets just pick -5.

-0.8(-5) < 4.8
4.0 < 4.8

Looks good.

divide each side by -0.8, but since it's negative, switch the sign
therefore
m>-6

divide both sides by -0.8. when you divide by a negative with inequalities, the sign flips. so it will be:
m>(4.8/-0.8)

-.8m<4.8
m<4.8/-.8
m<-6
Therefore m is a number less that -6
