如果寫metals can conduct electricity because of BOTH the mobile
ions and the delocalized electrons 得5得?

mobile ions 指係delocalized electrons 果d positive metal ions
(因為ductile 而可以slide through==> mobile)

If the metals are in solid state, the statement is wrong.

"Mobile ions" means that the ions can freely move around. (Hence, ductile doesn't mean mobile.) In a solid metal, the metal cations are in fixed position and delocalized electrons form metallic bonds to hold the metal cations together. In other words, the metal cations are not mobile.

Therefore, solid metals can conduct electricity because of delocalized electrons only.

If the metals are in liquid state, the statement may be true.

When a metal is in liquid state, the metal cations are mobile, but metallic bonds due to delocalized electrons still exist. Both the mobile metal cations and delocalized electrons can conduct electricity. However, the electrical conductivity is mainly due to the delocalized electrons.
