我想請教各位英語高手幾個問題：
第一個問題是用詞上的問題，我日前讀到一段文字，內容說：
... without confirming that fact, Tao Ran, the director of Beijing-based China Youth Mental Health Center, told China Daily that Internet addicts fall into two extremes - one is more young preschool children, the other promising college students. ...
為何作者文末使用promising這個字，這個promosing是什麼意思？為何作者不使用being？我查字典，promise是應該沒有be這個意思的。
還有一個是句子結構的問題，在同一段文字中說：
... According to Tao, 60 per-cent of them are obsessed with the Internet because of a lack of parental care, which he said emphasized the addiction as "parenting negligence". ...
文中的"said emphasized"是什麼意思？這種句子結構叫什麼名字（應該不是that-clause吧？）？其實which後的句子在說什麼？這個句子，我感覺實在很難明白。

在第一段: ".....that Internet addicts fall into two extremes -one is more young preschool children, the other promising college students. ..."："promising" 是個形容詞，解作 "有前途的"，去修飾 college students。 在句子結構上，"promising" 之前的 "is" 被省畧了。
在省畧前，句子原本是：".....that Internet addicts fall into two extremes - one extreme is (more) young preschool children, the other extreme is promising college students ......"。所以，一個極端是未入學的小孩，另一個極端是有前途的(指成績優良的)大學生。因為前半句講了 two extremes，跟着後半句的兩個短句中的 "extreme"便被省畧了。又因為後半句第一個短句用了 "is", 第二個短句的 "is" 便被省畧了。
其實第二個短句的 "is" 如果保存下來，整個句子便會比較清楚踏實，而並不會覺得繁冗 。
在第二段，"said" 和 "emphasized" 雖然是並排，但卻不是用在一起。其實 "he said" 是用在一起，而且之前和之後都省畧了個 comma。原本是: "....... , which, he said, emphasized the addiction as "parenting negligence". 所以，其實 "he said" 在這裡是無作用的(因為前面已講了according to Tao)，本來只是想在一句長句中加個停頓點 ，但由於省畧了兩個 comma, 反令到句子更長和更繁復。
