All correct except you left out the + 5 in the second line.

Nope. Well, your answer is right, but you need to do the same to both sides, so in the second step you need to subtract 5 from both sides (not just drop the 5 from the left side). You had it very close.

2x +5 = 9
2x+5-5=9-5
2x=4
2x/2= 4/2
X=2

2(2)+5=9
