What should I name my character?

Josh, it's common enough to not sound stupid. Also 'Josh' has no sharp sounding letters in it, this produces a psychological effect that makes him sound like a calm character without you ever needing to describe him. Since he's a character supporting someone else I thought that would be a good name.

Your name choice should depend on the description of the character. For example, you would not name a character Whitney if she had dark hair and dark skin because Whitney means white. In Twilight, the name Cullen, which is the last name of the family means beautiful and it suits the story because the Cullens are very beautiful people. You will want to choose a name for your character that suits him physically and also matches his personality. You may want to look up the meaning of the names you are considering, and that may help your decision.

Brandon is the best of those. William is next best. But the quality of the character will be in what he says and does, not what you name him.

Erick or Rhett

Well, I'm partial to the name Shawn, but I'm not sure it fits your character. I think Evan, Matthew, Ethan or Austin fit better...I really like Ethan since it's not that common, and I really like Matthew as just Matthew, not with a nickname.

Austin but with a E so : Austen

I think Austin because i know a person named Austin and he is cute lol with dark hair and eyes

For some reason, Evan sounds like a cute name for your character =)

You should name him Rhett. It's not very common and I think it would fit a guy of his description.
