a/x + b/x = c
(a + b)/x = c
a + b = cx
x = (a + b)/c

Since a and b have the same denominators( x) you can combine them

a/x+b/x = c
a+b/x = c

then multiply x to both sides to cancel out

a+b/x . x = c.x

after canceling out the x on left side u have

a+b =c.x

now you divide by c to both side to cancel out c on the right side and solve for x

a+b/c = c.x/ c

therefore a+b/ c = x

a/x + b/x = c

x is the common denominator, so re-write as:

(a+b)/x = c, now just cross multiply to get:

x = (a+b)/c

a/x + b/x = c
(a + b)/x = c
x(a + b)/x = xc
a + b = xc
(a + b)/c = x
