It's expensive to own a car there, apartments are like little pigeon holes with no space to breath. If you ask for directions on the streets, nobody would bother to entertain you. Instead they would go about their business poker-faced. You can't expect to see many smiles around. The cost of living there is not as high as other Asian cities like Tokyo or even Singapore, but is still considered high.

Yes! Hong Kong is an amazing place to live! Take the opportunity to live there. I lived there for 2 years myself and loved it so much. Coming from Australia it was a culture shock, but it was a great expierience, and the shopping was fun! There are so many cool places there to visit. I bought it as well.
As for working there, I think it's great. But my dad worked there not me. But he seemed to enjoy himself, plus taxis are inexpensive.

HONG KONG is a good place for work. But the cost of living is very high.
You can work in Hong Kong and live in Shenzhen (in mailand China, with 1 hour's subway from hongkong)

I think Hong Kong is a very good place for work and living. But the living cost is much higher than other places in the mainland China. If you have enough money, you can go and live there.

it's a pretty busy and congested city. but not as overwhelming as new york. Cantonese not a real requisite. Lots of places to go to that doesn't involve shopping.
